I believe this old cabinet is made from fir wood and is mostly clear (I found one knot on top). All of the screens are metal. There's a name on the back, but I'm not sure if that is the maker's name or the recipient? The paint is a worn white over gray.

PLEASE NOTE: The bottom skirt boards appear to be a newer addition as the original boards on the right side of the cabinet are rotted off, please see pic of underside. It was very common for pie safes to be relegated to a barn or shed, so this kind of damage is not entirely unusual.

Otherwise normal wear with dents, dings and stains. There are a few age splits. The largest is on the front lower left door panel which has been repaired with a splint of wood and stitched wire. Also, the very bottom edge of the side screens are loose.

There are four stationary shelves inside and an interior latch for holding the left door closed. This cabinet is solid and clean. Wonderful storage and loaded with nostalgic charm... thanks for looking!!! See less
