The Three Wise Monkeys—Mizaru (blind), Kikazaru (deaf), and Iwazaru (mute)—embody the proverbial principle of "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". Originating from a 17th-century Japanese carving, they represent a moral philosophy of not dwelling on, engaging with, or spreading negative, immoral, or evil thoughts.
