Seated on a lotus base … Read more A magnificent gilt bronze statue of Tibetan Avalokiteshvara, the compassionate Bodhisattva Water Moon Guan Yin. Seated on a lotus base in rajalilasana, the "posture of royal ease", the graceful figure wears an elegantly draped dhoti secured with a festoon-hung sash, beaded necklaces, armlets, large circular earrings and a high tiara. Her left hand supports her head with the right hand resting on the right knee. The small exquisite face with large downcast eyes and pursed lips all under high arched brows. The figure is richly gilded, and the base is sealed with a plate inscribed with a lotus. See less
