For the lover of all chinoiserie… this porcelain chocolate pot features a garden and seascape scene and the colors are vibrant red and gold. The decoration is “Moriage” which is a form of raised enamel and there is gold trim. Most likely, these pieces were made for export in the early 20th century.
These pieces are wonderful for display. Recently, we saw one used to style a coffee bar.
Matching plates and cups are available in other listings in this shop.
The piece is not marked which was common for items made for export.
