The Modernist lithograph print is published by Editions Des Nouvelles Images, printed in France in 1970 in an unnumbered limited edition. It features an artwork image originally created by Braque in 1958 titled " Astre et L'Oiseau II " ( The Star and The Bird II ).

This is a rare opportunity for true Braque and Mid Century Modernism fans and collectors, as this coveted image fine art lithograph is long out of print and very scarce to find.

Georges Braque ( 1882 - 1963 ) was a major 20th Century French painter, collagist, printmaker, and sculptor. His most important contributions to the history of art were his alliance with Fauvism, and the role he played in the development of Cubism. Closely associated with his colleague Pablo Picasso, their respective Cubist works were indistinguishable for many years. Working closely together, thus the invention of the Cubist style was a joint effort between Braque and Picasso. Artworks by Braque are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

During the summer of 1955, Braque visited a bird sanctuary in Camargue, an experience that furthered his interest and led to many iconic works that include birds in their compositions.

The rare out of print Modernist framed French lithograph print measures 33 5/8" W X 27" H X 1 1/8" D.

It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern recessed beveled detailed matte eggshell finish black wood frame molding, with an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

It is in excellent " like new " condition. The print is in excellent " like new " very clean condition consistent with age, very light signs of handling, and very light minor wear.
