These are not reproductions.
They are original vintage industrial bar stools — the kind that quietly inspired the wave of “industrial chic” designer stools produced by brands such as Rockett St George and similar makers in the early 2000s.
Before industrial became an aesthetic, this was simply how things were made.
⸻
Provenance & Character
Each stool retains a deep, honest patina of work:
• Worn edges
• Surface scratches
• Historic staining
• Age-softened faux-leather
Nothing artificial. Nothing distressed for effect.
The marks are earned.
This project was approached as conservation, not restoration. The aim was to stabilise and protect — never to erase history.

Conservation Details
Steel Frames
• Original black powder-coated finish retained
• Light surface corrosion removed by hand using fine wire wool
• Any exposed bright steel subtly toned with cold blue
• Sealed with linseed oil
• Finished in protective wax
• Fitted with new saddle slides
The industrial integrity remains fully visible — but now properly preserved.
Seats
• Original faux-leather shells
• Gently cleaned
• Any minor looseness secured with reversible mineral adhesive
• Hand-polished and waxed for long-term protection
No repainting.
No over-restoration.
No cosmetic disguise.

Construction
Seat Height: 720 mm (28.3 in)
Overall Height: 1070 mm (42.1 in)
Width: 505 mm (19.9 in)
Depth: 505 mm (19.9 in)
These are incredibly solid and well-balanced.
There is a very clear structural difference between a fashion-led domestic reproduction and a stool designed for sustained industrial use. The weight, rigidity and stance make that distinction immediately apparent.
They are comfortable, supportive and architecturally strong.
⸻
Styling Context
Ideal for:
• Converted warehouse kitchens
• Manhattan loft apartments
• Boutique hospitality spaces
• High-end rustic interiors
• Modern organic kitchens needing warmth
The rich cognac tone plays beautifully against concrete, marble, aged brass and reclaimed wood.
⸻
Why This Set
Finding one authentic stool is common.
Finding a matched set of four — evenly aged, structurally consistent, and professionally conserved — is not.
This is a cohesive group, ready for placement.
