The carving reflects the Régence influence so often seen in Liège cabinetry — balanced, symmetrical, and confidently sculpted, bridging the grandeur of Louis XIV and the emerging softness of Louis XV.
The façade is architecturally composed, with a central paneled cabinet framed by disciplined scrollwork, flanked by curved glazed vitrines that add gentle movement while preserving symmetry. Three molded drawers line the frieze above, fitted with classic brass pulls, and the shaped apron rests on a solid, well-proportioned base.
The Rouge Griotte Breccia marble, with its warm reddish-brown ground and striking white fossilized fragments, adds depth and visual drama. Quarried in Belgium, it was favored in fine regional cabinetry for its richness and strength, pairing beautifully with the warmth of oak.
