This beautiful Chinese export six panel lacquered coromandel screen features hand-carved soapstone of ladies in leisure setting in an imperial courtyard with trees, a pavilion, and wall surround. The entire screen has intricated floral pattern of mother of pearl inlays, and each panel has floral, literary scroll, or musical instrument motif on the bottom of each panel, supported by copper clad feet. The reverse side is decorated with gilded flowers over a black ground. This is truly a stunning piece.
Overall Dimensions: 96 inches wide x 1-inch-thick x 72 inches high
