Authentic, finely … Read more Pair of Antique Genoese Empire Chandeliers from 1780 in Crystal and Gilded Wood, some of which are colored. Authentic, finely carved in gilded wood, original, and perfectly restored and re-electricalized. This pair of 18th-century Italian chandeliers with eight lights is decorated with polychrome crystal drops and pendants on the upper portion only. These include red, blue, green, amber, and pink crystal drops. The eight curved, double-volute arms are wrought iron; the central stem is sculpted and gilded with naturalistic motifs and stylized leaves, all adorned with strings of pearls and cut crystal pendants.

These chandeliers are made with a carved wooden central stem, sculpted with plant motifs, turned, and gilded with fine gold; This central support, composed of several elements, is decorated with hand-wrought iron elements, joined by a multitude of clear crystal festoons, with some colored crystals, topped by crystal flowers with brass tops. These original details, combined with the splendid gilding, highlight the taste and timeless elegance of these late 18th-century salon chandeliers.

The eight arms extending from the lower wooden element are made of curved iron, terminating in beige iron bobbles. The chandelier was originally lit by candles.

They come from a private collection in Emilia and are in good condition, consistent with their 18th-century date. They have been re-electrified and operate with eight E14 bulbs each.
