A pair of Italian gilded friezes from around 1750, carved with scrolls and Rococo leaf motifs, gilded with gold leaf on a red Armenian bole base. They are most likely antique mirror cornices, made of Swiss pine and gilded with fine gold on a red Armenian bole base. The curled feet were added during the transformation and are therefore later. Despite the complexity of the typical Rococo decorative motif, there is a right and a left, meaning the carvings are mirrored. This pair of gilded Rococo furnishing elements can be used as door friezes or as simple ornamental wall decorations. Of Italian origin, they were purchased in a villa in Milan and are in good condition, with minimal defects in the gilding and restorations. See less
