Large amethyst-colored blown glass plate designed by Vittorio Zecchin for MVM Cappellin in the 1930s, with a ribbed center section made of transparent pink blown glass. The intense pink thread attached to the edge adds a refined touch. The four-pointed star breakaway is very important, confirming the period as it was in use until the early 1900s.
After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Vittorio Zecchin presented a series of glassworks created at the Barovier glassworks together with the painter Teodoro Wolf Ferrari at the 1914 Biennale.
During the war of 1915-1918, he set up a tapestry workshop in a former convent in Murano. In those same years, he exhibited his works—artistic glass, tapestries, embroidery, and paintings—at the Biennales in Venice, Milan, Rome, Monza, Turin, and Paris. He also taught glassmaking at the Abate Zanetti school in Murano.
from 1921 to 1925, he was artistic director of the company ‘Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C.’, becoming one of the leading figures and innovators in Murano glass art. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
