Very Unique antique Turkish saddle bag, also known as a kilim rug saddlebag or chuwal bag or heybe. This is one side, mort likely was separated for sale before it was purchased.
Traditionally handwoven in Anatolia and surrounding regions by nomadic and tribal people. Primarily created for practical purposes, serving as a means of transporting goods on camels and donkeys. Made from pure wool and natural dyes, hand-woven flat weave style known as kilim. This bag features a geometric and tribal patterns, and possibly the name of the maker or localized phonetic transcription.
Purchased 1980’s while traveling and stored since. Pictures show you each and every angle, no hidden damages.
