A mesmerizing mid century cityscape painting in an excellent original chestnut wood frame.
The place may be in France or another city in Europe. The painting takes you away in thought while trying to figure out the location.

The church spire, the bridge over the river, the architecture alongside the river's edge. The light impasto paint technique is well done as it the composition itself.
Most of all, we love the old likely chestnut wood frame that has all the patina and natural worm holes and wood character that we seek.
Signed on the bottom right corner. The date is 1958.
There is a framer's label on the backside indicating the framer's provenance is in NY state.
