This vintage Chippendale-style highboy chest features classic Colonial-inspired design with quality traditional construction. Crafted in mahogany, the piece showcases an ornately carved bonnet top, a fan-carved drawer, and elegantly shaped cabriole legs with pad feet.
The two-piece chest offers a series of full-depth graduated drawers throughout, all fitted with decorative brass hardware. Hand-cut dovetail drawer construction is visible, reflecting solid craftsmanship and traditional joinery. There are no shallow drawers, writing surfaces, or interior compartments, making this a true storage chest rather than a secretary.
All locks are intact and functional, and the piece includes working keys. Unbranded, as is typical of many well-made vintage Chippendale-style pieces, the chest was reportedly purchased at auction in the 1990s, though an exact production date is unknown.
With its warm patina, classic proportions, and refined detailing, this highboy works beautifully in a bedroom, dining room, or formal living space.
