A beautiful heavily-chased two handled silver-plate wine serving tray made by Barbour International Silver Company, monogrammed in the center and … Read more A beautiful heavily-chased two handled silver-plate wine serving tray made by Barbour International Silver Company, monogrammed in the center and surrounded by filigree chasing, the border decorated in raised grape clusters and leaves with intricate handles, all resting on pierced grape and leaf motif feet. The impressed Barbour mark in on the underside. Probably dating from the 20's or 30's, the Barbour Silver Company was an American manufacturer founded in 1892 in Hartford Connecticut by William Barbour and known for high-quality, heavily-chased and engraved silver-plated articles. It became a division of the International Silver Company in 1898 with production continuing until 1931, the brand officially retiring in 1943. This tray is extremely heavy and in remarkable condition with only a few minor scratches from years of use. A movie star on a sideboard or centerpiece on a dining table. See less
