This antique vase is of Meiji-era Japanese origin, specifically from Kyoto Satsuma. Made of ceramic, it features a multi-color design typical of Satsuma style. The vase dates back to the late 19th century, between 1850-1899. It showcases traditional Japanese craftsmanship and artistry from the Meiji period.
AN IMPRESSIVE ANTIQUE, CA. 1890S, MEIJI ERA, JAPANESE KYOTO SATSUMA VASE. HAND PAINTED AND DECORATED WITH RAISED ENAMELS ON RESERVES TO EITHER SIDE HAVING LOHANS READING SCROLLS, ATTENDED BY CHINESE BOYS. THE REST OF THE SURFACE IS WITH DIAPER PATTERNS AND ROSETTES, MUCH GILT ACCENTING. UNSIGNED. VERY GOOD
