The Ultimate American Classic
Own a piece of California history. This is the iconic Desert Rose pattern by Gladding, McBean & Co., famously chosen by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy for use in the White House and on Air Force One.
Collector Quality & Condition
This complete nesting set of three has been meticulously cared for and is in Excellent Vintage Condition.
* The Luster: The glaze is bright, glossy, and vibrant.
* The Integrity: Absolutely no chips, cracks, or crazing on any of the three pieces. There are a few light black specks on the interior only, which are original kiln-firing marks (typical mineral or kiln debris from production). The exterior is clear. There are light marks, most likely utensil marks . Refer to largest bowl’s bottom, barely discernible but present.
Historical Significance (1953–1958)
These are not modern reproductions. These are authentic mid-century pieces from the original Los Angeles, California plant.
* Backstamp: Features the desirable "Made in California, U.S.A." mark with the "Oven-Safe" designation introduced in 1953.
