Pair of antique French 22" tall gilt bronze candelabras from a Church Estate in New York circa 1860-1885. This handsome pair are made unique by their Neo-Renaissance style accented with Moorish revival notes and heavy architectural bases. They feature an ornate design throughout, embellished with champlevé enameling that is cut into the mercury-style gilded bronze, rather than applied on top, in jewel tones of opaque blue, green and muted reds. Each candelabra holds five 1" candles (not included) and are assembled from many pieces (the center stem alone has 9 pieces!) that have a simple initial stamped "J.J". which is either the bronzier's or foundry's mark (not the enameler's), which many high-quality, yet anonymous Parisienne workshop's were known to do. Fabulous garniture pieces on a mantel, sideboard or as rich accents on a large dining table scape!
Dimensions: 9.5"w x 9"d x 21"h (11.5 lbs each)
Note: The candelabras will be dismantled for easier, safer transport during shipping.
