Good antique condition; professionally reupholstered

This set of four French Louis XVI–style armchairs dates to the late 19th century and features finely carved giltwood frames with classic neoclassical detailing. The chairs exhibit fluted, tapering legs, molded seat rails, and gently curved arms terminating in carved hand rests, all characteristic of the Louis XVI design vocabulary.

The chairs have since been professionally reupholstered in black velvet, offering a refined, contemporary contrast to the richly patinated giltwood frames. The reupholstery preserves the original proportions while allowing the set to integrate seamlessly into both traditional and modern interiors.

The giltwood surfaces display attractive wear and patina consistent with age, including minor rubbing and surface variations. These elements are purely cosmetic and contribute to the authenticity of the set. All four chairs are structurally sound and in good working order.
