Striking set of five postmodern bar stools in black textured polyurethane over tubular steel, attributed to Brian Kane for Metropolitan Furniture, circa 1980s.
These sculptural stools feature the iconic rounded rectangular back, thick matte black coated frames, and integrated footrests that define Kane’s bold architectural aesthetic. The frames remain structurally sound with minor cosmetic scuffs consistent with age.
Seats are upholstered in mixed colors (black, purple, red, light gray, and celadon). Upholstery shows visible wear and staining and should be updated for a fully restored presentation. The simple square seat design makes reupholstery straightforward.
