Capodimonte porcelain owes its name to the hill in Naples, where in the first half of the 18th century, King Charles of Bourbon and his wife Maria Amalia of Saxony founded the Royal Factory of Capodimonte. Its glorious history continues today with the collaboration of international designers such as Liu Jianhua, Walead Beshty, and Patricia Urquiola. Its most famous creations, however, date from the mid-18th century to the early 19th century. The piece offered here, made in the mid-20th century, draws on the decorative models of that period and combines the linear white forms of the chandelier with the rich pastel decoration featuring the iconic Capodimonte roses. The result is a cheerful, clean ensemble with a spring-like feel. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
