Decorative faience vase of vietnamese production, made circa 1965–1975 and intended for export. The object is marked with the stamp “viet nam – artexport – saigon”, characteristic of the state export enterprise operating in saigon prior to 1975. The use of the name saigon allows the vase to be clearly dated to the period before the city was renamed ho chi minh city.
the vase features a slender, classical silhouette with a slightly flared rim and a stable foot. The body is richly decorated with relief modeling beneath the glaze, depicting cranes in a landscape with trees and stylized vegetation. The crane motif, common in far eastern iconography, symbolizes longevity, harmony, and good fortune. The decoration is executed in a deep cobalt-blue palette, contrasted with lighter relief elements and accents of green and red. Geometric friezes at the base and the rim complete the composition.
