Circa 1835 William IV period games table, English. Designed as a side console table when not in use for gaming. Flame mahogany veneers & solid mahogany. The swivel top reveals baized inset circular playing surface - the wooden surface for candles, drinks, etc. Raised on an octagonal standard with scrolled lapets on an abacus base with conforming feet. The apron with angular drop & carved scrolls is particularly striking.
