I started a vegetable garden early spring of 2020 when the pandemic hit hard. (I wasn't the only one to start a garden! Many were popping up just like the Victory Gardens of World War II.) I was trying to be a little more self-sufficient as we saw normally ample supplies of household goods and fresh food start to run out on the store shelves. I expanded the garden this year (2021). Next year, I'll have to find a balance because tending to the garden has eaten into the time I spend painting. I meant to paint the garden last year but it's not my normal subject matter and I was having difficulty figuring out how to do it. Finally this year I thought, just try, if you fail, so what. So here's the first painting of my Pandemic Garden.
This is professional grade acrylic paint on a stretched 30" by 40" canvas. It has a thin, wood lattice strip frame, is wired and ready to hang.
Please look at the images carefully. This is painted very loosely with quick brushstrokes and texture inherent with painting.
