Using both figurative and botanical elements, Raleigh artist Holly Fischer explores the dualities inherent in beauty and femininity in her abstracted works. She is now a highly collected artist whose paper sculptures are on the market for over $1000 apiece.
This stunning early work was part of her senior student exhibition at Meredith College, Raleigh in 1999 and donated to us by the original purchaser.
It reflects a woman's body in a minimalist and expressive form in honeyed ceramic. In good condition. The breasts and the buttocks are grooved and lend a textual essence to the overall piece.
