There is space for a lock on … Read more Wonderful little red Chinese tansu chest with brass butterfly hardware on the front. There is space for a lock on the front of the box, but there is not one included. The box is raised on a separate painted black stand that has notches so that it sits under the box securely. There are small handles on either side, mostly for decoration. The inside of the box is plastered in washi paper with ink characters in long columns, possibly old leger paper.

Great condition, top surface has wear that is consistent with age. The corners are chipped slightly and some scratches around the edges.
