Very rare model from a series of the four seasons: standing nude art nouveau beauty with her hair carefully tied with a yellow ribbon and head tilted forward, pulling a large purple cloth with stylised circular flowers in white, black and gold, with her right hand from behind high above her shoulder, on her left forearm a lush bouquet of carefully arranged golden and blue flowers, next to her a dark-haired cupid with a long garland of the same flowers as in the bouquet slung over the shoulder. The group stands on a round base with a black and grey painted top and side decoration with stylised leaves and berries, interspersed with rectangular reserves with acanthus leaf and bird reliefs. Modeller: emmrich oehler (1881 - 1982) german sculptor; studied at the state university for porcelain manufacture in dresden, from 1909 he worked in the master workshop of johannes schilling and georg wrba at the art academy in dresden and was employed at the state porcelain manufacture until 1913. He was among others, a member of the german werkbund. He made a name for himself above all with his models of figures and animals and thus had a decisive influence on the art nouveau period in meissen.
