Delicate meissen art nouveau porcelain figure: skater in elegant winter attire: costume consisting of a long skirt and jacket in … Read more Delicate meissen art nouveau porcelain figure: skater in elegant winter attire: costume consisting of a long skirt and jacket in white with green checked hems, cuffs and collar, double row of gold buttons and matching bonnet on her pinned-up dark hair, lilac-coloured flowing scarf around her neck and blades on her elegant light grey heeled shoes, gliding across the ice with her leg raised and arms stretched away from her body in a slight twisting motion. The figure is supported from behind by a block of ice and stands on a flat, irregular ice base. Excellent design with fine decoration. Designer: alfred könig (1871 - 1940) studied at the art academy in dresden, since 1897 he worked in the meissen manufactory as a designer and modeler. The artist specialized in the design of human figures in various variations, such as genre figures, children, athletes, soldiers etc. Model z 194 was created 1910.
