The wearing of the Golden Fleece shows that he was a nobleman without blame, respecting the code of knightly virtue. This tapestry depicts the King of France, Charles VII. The Royal Arms of France consists of a gold Fleur de Lys motif on a blue ground. The Fleur de Lys emblem is derived from the lily flower and has been used as decorative emblem in French heraldry for many centuries.
