This design is also known as the Great Yarmouth Cloth of Estate. This tapestry now belongs to The Burrell Collection in Glasgow, and represents the reign of Edward VI (1547-1553) or Elizabeth I (1559-1603). The Latin translation reads HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE (Shame be to him who evil thinks).
This tapestry is fully lined incorporating a sleeve along the top for hanging with a Hines hanging rod. Alternatively, this tapestry can be hung with a wooden batten which is a concealed method of hanging.
