Fabricated by the Revere Company of Rome, New York, which produced a top flight series of Art Deco objects for the home, breaking with old-fashioned design traditions. Norman Bel Geddes and other luminaries were hired by the company to produce their line of superior objects.

This chromed brass and walnut Art Deco magazine rack by the notable Fred D. Farr would be one of Revere's most sculptural items. The spring design concept was first used by Farr in his hugely successful range of bookends for Revere. This rack is one of the original magazine versions issued with a walnut handle and base. Later editions included a more stylized all-chrome version with a ring handle and black or red octagonal bakelite editions. This rack retains its original chrome plating and walnut base and handle. It's in very good vintage condition with an appropriately antique patina (various minor dents and scratches) and a variety of relatively superficial scratches to the chrome.. The chrome has been polish-cleaned and the base has been waxed. A multitude of light scratches cover much of the chrome surfaces.

With great presence, being 17 1/2 inches tall. The wood base is 6 by 9 1/2. See less
