Beautiful ceramic table lamp designed by Per Linnemann Schmidt for Palshus. The Danish sculptor and ceramist studied at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen in the 1930s. In 1949, he and his wife Annelise Linnemann-Schmidt founded Palshus Stentøj in Sengeløse, just outside Copenhagen. The name Palshus is a combination of their two names with the addition of the Danish word for house, Hus. Until 1972, they made tableware, vases, and lamps in Scandinavian earth tones. This lamp, model name DL-49, has a base with a dark brown glaze with green speckles. The table lamp is 50 cm high, and the shade has a diameter of 41 cm.
