Etching on paper. Hand signed, dated and numbered in pencil. Edition of 80. This delicate etching by Giovanni Omiccioli is conceived as a miniature repertory of images, arranged like a page of visual notes. In the centre of the sheet, the artist gathers a series of small vignettes—boats, birds, plants, clouds, animals, rural fragments and tiny figures—each drawn with a light, spontaneous line that recalls sketchbooks and travel diaries. Rather than constructing a single narrative scene, Omiccioli creates an imaginary atlas of “motifs” (“9.0 motivi” is written at the top right), where every element becomes a poetic sign: the everyday transformed into memory, suggestion, and rhythm. The wide surrounding blank space enhances the sense of intimacy and suspension, allowing the viewer to contemplate each small image as if it were a fleeting thought or a preserved fragment of landscape. The result is a work of quiet lyricism, balancing humour and tenderness, and reflecting Omiccioli’s distinctive ability to combine graphic simplicity with a refined, almost dreamlike atmosphere. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
