The decoration incorporates a range of finely selected woods, traditionally including fruitwoods such as pear and apple, combined with walnut, maple, and ebonized elements, typical of French Napoleon III furniture.

The rectangular top is framed by a pierced gilt metal gallery (brass or bronze), while a single drawer below showcases traditional dovetail joinery and a finely detailed gilt metal pull.

Two additional lower shelves echo the elaborate inlaid decoration of the upper tier, all supported by slender ebonized legs that lend the piece a graceful silhouette. Decorative gilt metal mounts outline each level, enhancing the visual depth and ornamental elegance characteristic of the Napoleon III period.
