Rows of tiny shells create geometric borders and densely worked fields, while larger scallop shells form distinctive ornamental motifs across the surface.

The juxtaposition is what makes the piece so compelling: the disciplined geometry of a Neoclassical obelisk rendered in an organic, wonderfully eccentric material. At just over 30 inches high, it has substantial decorative presence and would be particularly striking on a console or pedestal, incorporated into a library, garden room, or coastal interior. It feels equally appropriate in a layered English country house or a Palm Beach home where shellwork can be used with a slightly more sophisticated hand.

A distinctive Grand Tour-inspired object with the texture and individuality that make collected interiors interesting.
