Unique stoneware clay, titled 'Petrified Forest.' Hand crafted in Berks County, PA.
Saw them make these and it was quite stunning to see.
Each Piece begins with the artist taking a walk in the woods and hand selects the leaves to make his work of art. A thick slab of stoneware is rolled out and then the shape of the finished tile is cut from that. While still soft, colors are applied to the clay and leaf design is arranged. Dark brown background with orange and blue flecks three piece leaves.
Wooden rectangle attachment on backside. Measures 16.25" H x 5.5" W x 1" D. Excellent condition. Please note, the impression on each on stem is completely normal and part of the design. This is not a flaw.
