Late 19th-century French oak sideboard or buffet, bleached to create a lighter, softened finish well suited for modern interiors. The original darker oak tone remains visible in the interior, offering contrast and depth. Five upper drawers alternate between long and short formats, creating strong visual rhythm across the façade, each framed by paneled detailing.
Below, three cabinet doors feature arched panels topped with carved floral motifs, complemented by elegant paneled detailing throughout, including the gently curved canted sides. The sideboard rests on front bun feet with block feet at the rear, providing both stability and classic French proportion. One interior shelf offers practical storage.
Typical age-related scratches and plank separation are visible along the top, consistent with the period and use. Additional stains, cracks, scuffs, and nicks are age related and do not detract from the beauty or function of the piece. The sideboard has been restored, is solid, strong, stable, and ready for use.
