The chest features three full-width drawers crafted in richly figured walnut with finely bookmatched veneer across the drawer fronts and sides, highlighting the dramatic grain typical of French provincial cabinetry. A discreet hidden drawer is integrated beneath the marble top, a charming functional detail often found in quality period pieces. The commode is topped with its original white Carrara marble slab with soft rounded corners. The case rests on shaped feet with a molded plinth base, giving the piece a grounded architectural presence characteristic of the Louis Philippe period. The chest has been structurally revised to ensure excellent stability and everyday usability. All drawers are aligned and slide smoothly.
