Stunning fan shaped Japanese trinket box with removable lid, most likely dates to Meiji period. Wood black lacquer box has exquisite gold pagoda and bamboo detailing on upper lid and side.
Very good condition for age. Lid does not set perfectly on one side, as you can see in photo. Does not take away from it's charm.
Measures 1 1/4" tall x 3 1/2" at widest.
