Apparently this was a consolidation of Hall's Safe and Lock Co. Cincinnati, Marvin Safe Co. New York City, and Barrel & Co. and Meyers & Smith, Philadelphia. The groundbreaking ceremonies in 1896. They had nearly 50% of the world's safe and vault production and were contracted to make the strongboxes for Railway Express. Similar models have also been manufactured by Victor Safe Co. Cincinnati, Ohio as a Quartermaster's safe for WWI, The Korean War, and WWII. Back when wars used to be funded with gold. This iron strongbox says it was manufactured in Lawton, Oklahoma, Larrance Tank Corporation, a steel fabricator who manufactured land mines for both world wars, as well as Jeep Wiley's, and these strongbox's, for the safekeeping of classified documents, cash, and gold.
