This is an exceptionally fine 18th or 19th C. copy of an old master painting originally done by Gerrit Dou … Read more This is an exceptionally fine 18th or 19th C. copy of an old master painting originally done by Gerrit Dou (also spelled Gerard Douw [Netherlands 1613-1675 Listed]). Housed in a pleasing, gilt molded frame. It has a Frost and Reed London label from the 60's attached to stretcher. The painting has been cleaned. There has been some restoration to fine cracks in the wood panel itself with minor inpainting. Slightly uneven varnish. The original was painted in 1637. This painting appears to be from the 18th or 19th C. Fine detail and as close to the original as you will find. Frame shows some small losses. The panel does have some warp to it. size: 18.25" x 21" framed. Sight: 13" x 15.5". Shipping cost of $95 includes insurance.
