This piece shows exceptional age, character, and authenticity, with beautifully irregular organic form, visible grain, knots, and honest wear developed over more than a century of use. The surface is untouched and original, retaining it's rich patina and naturally occurring shrinkage cracks consistent with the period utilitarian furniture. Likely originally used as a milking bench, kitchen work bench, or hearth-side utility table. Today it functions as a coffee table, entryway bench or decorative modern and traditional interior. Not a reproduction. Not altered, not refinished. Material solid hardwood slab beech, maple or poplin. Hand-turned or shaved hardwood legs. Period 1820-1880. See less
