A striking suite of four early 19th-century Italian neoclassical engravings by Bartolomea Pinelli, each dated Roma 1817, beautifully presented in matching custom mahogany frames with cream and sand mats.
These finely detailed engravings depict dramatic classical and historical scenes rendered in the grand neoclassical style popular in Rome in the early 1800s. The line work is exceptionally crisp, with rich cross-hatching and expressive figural composition characteristic of Roman academic printmaking of the period. Each print bears the original engraved inscription and date along the lower margin.
The set is unified by elegant custom framing: warm reddish mahogany frames with beveled profiles that complement the antiqued tones of the prints.
