A striking large vintage Swedish textile wall decoration featuring a traditional Jämtland pattern, executed in richly colored wool. This large-scale piece is double-sided, allowing it to be displayed as wall art or used as a decorative textile for a chair or table.
Influenced by 1930s Art Nouveau aesthetics, the design combines flowing ornamentation with bold, harmonious colorwork. Decorative fringes at both ends further enhance its visual presence and craftsmanship. Despite its age, the colors remain remarkably vivid, it has a dark denim blue base with details in red, brown, black and white and the textile is preserved in very good vintage condition.
Versatile and sculptural, this textile makes a compelling statement in both modern and traditional interiors.
Dimensions:
Length (including fringe): 200 cm (78.75 in)
Width: 43 cm (17 in)
A charming and authentic example of Swedish textile folk art, this wall hanging captures the warmth and soul of Scandinavian craftsmanship.
