This rare papillona floor lamp is a quintessential example of italian space age design from the 1970s. The sculptural lamp head, with its butterfly-like silhouette, combines lacquered metal with a textured glass shade, creating an indirect, atmospheric light distribution. The visible red internal strut and the technically inspired construction are typical features of afra & tobia scarpa's experimental design phase. Embossed manufacturer's marks flos / made in italy on the lamp head confirm its original production from this period. A striking design classic with clear collector appeal.
