Conceived as a masquerade courtship scene, the figures are rooted in the Parisian revival tradition associated with the style of Vion & Baury.

Condition:
Lady: excellent antique condition. Examined under UV light; no cracks, no restoration. Polychrome enamels and gilding are well preserved.
Gentleman: the index finger of the right hand is chipped. Minor losses to the gilding. Firing cracks to the base of the column against which the figure rests. Otherwise in excellent antique condition. Examined under UV light; no cracks or restoration detected. See less
