The upper section features a hinged fall-front panel that opens to reveal a writing surface and a thoughtfully arranged interior of small drawers and pigeon compartments, designed for correspondence and personal papers. The interior retains its original configuration, reflecting practical Georgian-era craftsmanship focused on daily use rather than ornament alone.
