Thought to provide a conduit to the celestial plane, the bi disc is always carved of fine jade or stone, shaped by hand to a circular form that represents the heavens in Chinese cosmology.

This contemporary bi disc is carved from white marble with soft grey veining, lightly smoothed for a satin texture. Set on a custom metal stand, the bi disc layers into minimal interiors as an abstract sculpture with graphic form.
