Each piece is mounted for a 3D suspended effect, with a gap framing the artwork to showcase its uninterrupted color, while a white-on-white mat makes the hues pop.
“Sailboat” measures 3" x 4" and “Purple Head” measures 3" x 3.75", with inventory and painting details on the back.
The paintings were acquired by the owner of Clover's Cottage at a gallery opening in New Orleans that Mr. Max personally attended, that evening, after a warm and lively chat about his work, Mr. Max personally inscribed each piece, “To Steve, Love Max,” making them a treasured possession creating a direct link between the artist and only owner for the last 26 years. They have been part of Clover’s Cottage’s private collection ever since. See less
