This fantastic and unique mid-century patio table, attributed to Salterini and designer Mario Papperzini, was likely produced in the 1950's–1960's. It features a sculptural wrought iron pedestal base formed from shaped iron "ribbons" and topped with a round, beveled glass top. At the top of the base, the iron flares outward into sculptural leaf-like fronds, creating a botanical, fountain, or pineapple-inspired form that is highly characteristic of Papperzini-era Salterini garden designs. The central body features criss-crossing iron that forms diamond patterns around a rounded core, while the base is anchored by six decorative clover or heart-shaped feet, adding to the romantic garden character.
The table has recently been professionally powder coated in a deep bronze finish, giving it excellent durability for outdoor use while preserving the sculptural character of the original design. The round top size comfortably accommodates 4–5 patio or garden chairs, making it ideal for casual outdoor dining or drinks. The pedestal base design also allows the glass top to be swapped for a slightly larger or smaller diameter if desired, offering flexibility for different spaces or seating arrangements.
While unmarked, the construction method, tied waist ring, sculptural leaf frond crown, and pedestal form align closely with known Papperzini-era Salterini production.

The base has been freshly powder-coated in a deep bronze that really just goes with everything. The glass top has no chips but does have some light scratches from normal use. I believe the small holes on the top of the fronds may be for rubber supports. I will see if I have some handy but that may be nice to add. less
